London art student, Clayton, has announced the upcoming loss of his virginity in public, in front of an audience of 100 people. He will have gay sex for the first time with a friend as part of a performance project called "Art School Stole My Virginity ".
The Central Saint Martins art school student has been planning the performance since he was 16. He says the show will take place in Hackney on January 25 next year. He hopes to talk with the audience about the performance afterwards. Pettet adds that he hasn’t told his parents about the project, but he expects it will earn him rave reviews with the masses for challenging the idea of sexuality.
He said: "I've held on to my virginity for 19 years and I'm not throwing it away lightly. I have decided to use mine and the loss of it to create a piece that I think will stimulate debate." As controversy raged over the idea, Mr Pettet subsequently posted on his blog that some people were talking about it "without understanding".
He said: "Virginity to me is conceptual and losing it as a performance piece is the way I have chosen to do that. But for a reason I haven't said the layout of the piece, the location of the piece, or what is actually going to happen. So for people comparing it to a live sex show, I can assure you it will be nothing like that."
Lustralboy says: "Good luck, Clayton. We're sure you'll get a full house. You might even need to rebook to the Albert Hall. We hope that your chosen partner knows what he's doing. Or your audience may be in for as uncomfortable a time as you could be, particularly if your 're going for your full 15 minutes of fame!"
