Right-wing minister Scott Lively claims, "The last straw for God before he brought the flood was when they started writing wedding songs to homosexual marriage."
The unhinged evangelist, currently on trial for inciting human rights abuses against the LGBT community in Uganda, has lurched into verbal overdrive. One day after the appearance of the "Kill the Gays" bill supporter in a Massachusetts federal court, Lively participated in a radio interview with Sandy Rios of the American Family Association. He announced Noah's Biblical flood was punishment from God for the "writing of wedding songs to homosexual marriage."
In a caring attempt to validate this madman's theory, our investigative zeal takes us to GENESIS 6. We quote:
5. And God saw that the wickedness of man was great in the earth, and that every imagination of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually. 6. And it repented the LORD that he had made man on the earth, and it grieved him at his heart. 7. And the LORD said, I will destroy man whom I have created from the face of the earth; both man, and beast, and the creeping thing, and the fowls of the air; for it repenteth me that I have made them. 8. But Noah found grace in the eyes of the LORD. 9. These are the generations of Noah: Noah was a just man and perfect in his generations, and Noah walked with God.
Wedding songs get not a mention. But let's enjoy the joyfully gay rainbow image behind the Ark in this sweet picture.
Lustralboy gently points out to the bonkers pastor that the "wickedness of man" is nowhere greater than in Uganda where those whom he supports glory in their attempts to kill gays for...........being gay. Noah, had he been around now, and being, apparently "a just man and perfect in his generations" would have probably welcomed the the gay community on-board, wedding songs and all!
