How many of you enjoyed watching EuroVision? Okay, I know it’s hopelessly uncool and more to Andrew Lloyd Webber’s taste than that of us devotees of drum ‘n base and dubstep. BUT, it comes with a certain fascination in the “How bad can it really be?” context. To be honest, I can never take it seriously. But in this year’s contest, the boy band from Denmark, A Friend in London, interested me. Cool style, great performance, handsome faces made me wanted to know more about them. That’s why I interviewed the lead singer of the band, Tim Schou, who wowed me on the show with his natural charm and the sexy backless shirt.
TS : Tim Schou / Lb: Lustralboy
Lb: Hey Tim, where are you now?
TS: I’m in my apartment in Copenhagen.
Lb: And what are you wearing?
TS: Black Jeans, a t-shirt and all of my necklaces and a silver ring.
Lb: Describe Tim Schou with 3 words.
TS: 3 words? Really? That's not nearly enough hmm... ok I’ll try: Charming. Open. Energetic.
Lb: Energetic. Okay, so were you an academic kid? Sport kid? Or what?
TS: Sport and acting.
Lb: Right! Are you straight? Are you gay? Straight but gay friendly? Homophobic? Or what?
TS: Straight but Gay FRIENDLY
Lb: Glad you aren’t homophobic! So what’s your biggest phobia?
Lb: OMG!! Me too! Okay, let’s talk about love. When was your first love? Was it HEAVEN or HELL?
TS: When I was 5 and saw Jasmine in Aladdin. HEAVEN and then HELL when I realized she wasnt real.
Lb: Oh, Jasmine! I used to fancy Aladdin himself (that little purple vest)! Anyway, who’s your hero, musical or otherwise?
TS: John Mayer.
Lb: Imagine. If you were not a musician, what would you be?
TS: Handball Player or Actor.
Lb: Actor? Right, you were an acting kid! So what can you see yourself doing 10 years later?
TS: Touring around the world, and maybe doing a couple of big movies.
Lb: Describe your band with 3 words.
TS: Visionary. Ambitious. Loveable.
Lb: You are from Denmark but why is your band called A Friend in London?
TS: It’s about relations, building bridges and being FRIENDS with people all around the globe no matter race, sexuality or color.
Lb: Okay, I get it. We have lots of bridges in London. So who is your best mate in the band?
TS: Depends on the day and my mood - And I have kissed all of them. Haha!
Lb: Oh, kissed them all… I wonder… Anyway, do you think EuroVision was a good showcase for the band? Seriously!
TS: It was definitely a good way to let everyone in Europe know that we exist and now we gotta show them that we’re here to stay
Lb: Which is the best venue you have ever played at?
TS: Rust in Denmark and Black dog in Bayfield, Ontario, Canada
Lb: Okay, what’s the next project of the band?
TS: Releasing new singles and then recording the debut album and tour Germany.
Lb: Okay! A typical question from gay interviewer! What would be your drag queen name? (Favourite Aunt’s first name + Name your favourite beach)
Lb: What? Whatever… Oh, I need to know this, what’s the brand of the shirt that you wore on EuroVision? So sexy. Whoa!
TS: It is a design by the Danish fashion designer David Andersen. check him out here.
Lb: If you can be another person for a day, who would that be? Why?
TS: Elvis Presley, because of the hair.
Lb: Last question. Mmm… Tell me a secret…. PLEASE.
TS: If I did I’d have to kill u ;)
Lb: Alright! I know we are not friends enough for me to know your secret. And I’m guessing you really don’t want to kill me, right? … Fine!
