Creative agency Mother and The Kaleidoscope Trust are joining the campaign against homophobia in Russia this Christmas.
Russian dolls of five British celebrities are being auctioned to raise money for the Russian LGBT community. Elton John, Stephen Fry, George Michael, Graham Norton, and Tom Daley, have all been immortalised as Russian (or matryoshka) dolls. The dolls are all signed by Sir Elton John, and each set contains all five.
The agency has created seven limited edition, hand-painted sets for auction online at www.torussiawithlove.co.uk between the 13th and 22nd December. The money will got to The Kaleidoscope Trust for their work with the Russian gay community.
No doubt to the delight of the Russian Embassy in London and the Kremlin in Moscow they will receive their own sets over Christmas.
Lustralboy says: This is just the latest in a series of creative efforts to focus on the appalling gay repression currently being suffered by gays in Russia. Check the related stories below for boycotts, petitions, rainbow fingernails and plans to hijack the Sochi Winter Olympics.
