Jim Parsons raises his Best Actor Comedy Emmy on September 18, 2011. (Allen J. Schaben/Los Angeles Times)
Emmy-winning Sheldon Cooper Jim Parsons has finally unleashed his own Big Bang. Yes he's gay. No surprises there then.
Although Parsons has had an extensive career in the theatre, it's his role as surpressed censorious celebate intellectual hyper-geek Sheldon Cooper on "The Big Bang Theory" that made him a star. His performances have earned him two Emmy Awards, a Golden Globe and a Critics' Choice Award.
Though he once thanked Todd Spiewak, his partner of ten years, during a Golden Globe acceptance speech and the tabloids have endlessly speculated about an engagement, Jim never officially addressed his sexuality. But now, Jim has slipped the news into a lengthy New York Times profile of the actor discussing his performance on Broadway in the play "Harvey."
And what a charming couple they make. Welcome to the out world Sheldon, er, Jim.
